There are eight former first round picks in this year’s game. Last year, Greg Bird of the Yankees was the MVP. Other players that played in last year’s game and have seen time in the majors include Steven Moya (Tigers), Corey Seager (Dodgers), Francisco Lindor (Indians), Jace Peterson (Braves), Eddie Rosario (Twins), and Archie Bradley (DBacks). The game, the league for that matter, has been used as a crystal ball, if you will, for deciding who does and who doesn’t have major league talent.
Players to watch
There are many, so it’s hard to pick one from each division. But I’m going to with C Gary Sanchez from the Yankees (West) and Daniel Robertson of the Rays (East). Notable players include Austin Meadows (Pirates, AFL West), Clint Frazier (Indians, AFL East), and Jurickson Profar (Rangers, AFL West)
You can view the game on MLB Network and on MLB.com at 8pm Saturday.
