Aldridge to Sign With San Antonio
With possibly the biggest name in NBA free agency undecided on where he will sign, LaMarcus Aldridge finally made his mark on Saturday and chose to sign with the San Antonio Spurs. The deal will be worth 4 years, $80 million. The following deal is technically worth a maximum amount, so it’s safe to say that the Spurs have high hopes for the big man.
The Spurs originally did not contain the cap space to reel Aldridge in, hence the reason the organization decided to trade Tiago Splitter to the Atlanta Hawks. Aldridge had the following to say, according to Twitter:
I’m happy to say I’m going home to Texas and will be a Spur!! I’m excited to join the team and be close to my family and friends.
Aldridge will now get to team up with players like Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard and of course, Tony Parker. Will the money invested into Aldridge pay off? The numbers will tell next season.
