Steelers linebacker T.J Watt has just been named AFC defensive player of the month. Watt, during those four games, tallied 16 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, and 2 forced fumbles. Watt currently has 12.5 sacks as of now, making him 3.5 shy of tying the 2008 record set by former Steeler James Harrison.
Watt is currently sitting in 1st place in the AFC in sacks and 4th overall in the NFL. To go along with his sacks, Watt is also in a tie for second place in the AFC for forced fumbles. Watt is currently riding a 9-game streak of obtaining at least 1 sack or more.
Fellow teammate Bud Dupree had nothing but praise when he talked about his counterpart, saying, "he will probably win the defensive player of the year." T.J Watt's brother JJ Watt even thinks he might take the defensive player of the year honors after an interview saying, "This year he is actually making it look like he might seriously do it."
With the most crucial part of the Steelers schedule coming up in December, “Steeler Nation” hopes to see Watt continue his dominant ways.
