2021 NFL Rookies of the Week: Week 2

This past weekend was a struggle for some big name NFL rookies such as Zach Wilson, Trevor Lawrence and DeVonta Smith. There were some bright spots, however, as we go over the top first-year players from Week 2.

Honorable Mentions: Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris (81 total yards, 1 TD), Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parsons (8 QB hurries, 2 tackles, 1 sack), Los Angeles Chargers CB Asante Samuel Jr (4 tackles, 1 INT).

3. Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts

Pitts had a strong showing in his second NFL game for the Falcons, bringing in five receptions and a team-high 73 receiving yards (14.6 yards per reception). Atlanta fell short to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2, but Pitts has shown promise to this point. His top play included a 24-yard reception on 3rd & 7.

2. Denver Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II

With Ronald Darby suffering a hamstring injury, Surtain earned his first career NFL start. In a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Surtain finished with four total tackles and an interception. As the top defensive player selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, Surtain has lived up to his draft stock early on.

1. Arizona Cardinals WR Rondale Moore

Moore headlined the rookie class in Week 2, totaling seven receptions, 114 receiving yards and a touchdown which came from a 77-yard reception. In a shootout between Arizona and the Minnesota Vikings, Moore stood out and showed he can be a reliable receiving option opposite DeAndre Hopkins.
