The final week of the NFL regular season is in the books and what a season it was. A wide variety of rookies played key roles in their team’s schemes this season, as we look forward to their development as second-year players.
Honorable Mentions: Minnesota Vikings WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (3 rec, 103 yards, 1 TD), New Orleans Saints CB Paulson Adebo (5 tackles, 1 INT), Philadelphia Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell (78 Rush yards, 1 TD, 4 Rec, 9 yards)
3. WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
St. Brown ended the season on a high note as a big part of the Detroit Lions win over the Green Bay Packers this past Sunday. He logged eight catches for 109 yards and a touchdown in the win. St. Brown has been on fire the past few weeks, proving himself as a primary wide receiver for the Lions in 2022.
2. QB Davis Mills, Houston Texans
Mills has played well this season, and his play could be enough to be the starter for the 2022 season in Houston. Mills threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns this past weekend, keeping Houston in contention of an upset against the Tennessee Titans.
1. QB Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Lawrence led Jacksonville to an upset win over the Indianapolis Colts, ending their playoff hopes in Week 18. He threw for 223 passing yards and two touchdowns. Lawrence ends his rookie year on a positive note and hopefully can go into next season with a new sense of confidence.
