2021 MLB Trade Deadline Tracker

With the 2021 MLB Trade Deadline approaching on July 30th, multiple teams have remained active in trade talks. Here, we discuss which front offices are feeling the need to add talent to their respective roster, while also noting which teams will prepare for their futures:

AL East

Baltimore Orioles

• Official: The Baltimore Orioles have traded reliever Shawn Armstrong to the Tampa Bay Rays in return for cash considerations.
• Official: The Baltimore Orioles have traded shortstop Freddy Galvis to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Boston Red Sox

• Official: The Washington Nationals have traded Kyle Schwarber to the Boston Red Sox in return for Aldo Ramirez.
• Official: The Minnesota Twins traded pitcher Hansel Robles to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for pitcher Alex Scherff.
• Official: The Boston Red Sox have traded infielder Michael Chavis to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for pitcher Austin Davis.

New York Yankees

• Official: The New York Yankees have acquired pitcher Clay Holmes from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for infielders Diego Castillo and Hoy Park.
• Official: The New York Yankees have traded relivers Luis Cessa and Justin Wilson to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for a player to be named later.
• Official: The Texas Rangers have traded outfielder Joey Gallo and pitcher Joely Rodríguez to the New York Yankees in exchange for infielders Ezequiel Duran, Josh Smith, Trevor Hauver and pitcher Glenn Otto.
• Official: The New York Yankees have traded pitcher Alexander Vizcaino and outfielder Kevin Alcantara to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for first baseman Anthony Rizzo. The Cubs will pay the remainder of Rizzo’s contract.
• Official: The Los Angeles Angels have traded pitcher Andrew Heaney to the New York Yankees in exchange for Janson Junk and Elvis Peguero.

Tampa Bay Rays

• Official: The Tampa Bay Rays traded starting pitcher Rich Hill to the New York Mets in exchange for reliever Tommy Hunter and minor league catcher Matt Dyer.
• Official: The Minnesota Twins traded designated hitter Nelson Cruz and pitcher Calvin Faucher to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for pitchers Joe Ryan and Drew Stotman
• Official: The Tampa Bay Rays traded minor leaguer Deivy Grullon to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations.
