4. Carolina Panthers

Entering the 2020 season, the Carolina Panthers are in a tough spot. With a rookie head coach in Matt Rhule and new change at quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater, it will be difficult to navigate to the top of the division. The Panthers will still remain competitive, but appear to have the short end of the stick under these circumstances. This season will be more about development than anything else.

3. Atlanta Falcons

Each season becomes increasingly difficult to figure out where Atlanta stands among the elite teams in the NFL. While they have enough talent to rise as a threat in the NFC South, their competition in the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be too much to handle. This is an important year to turn things around, as Atlanta could very well steal a few in-division games.

The Saints have a proven plan for success on handling their aging Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees. They will likely follow a similar formula this season, and it will likely be enough to be neck-and-neck with the Buccaneers. This team is filled with young talent across the board, but the race in .

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t sold on Tom Brady fixing all the wrongs of Tampa Bay. Despite being the greatest quarterback of all time, Brady is also declining. With the cast around him, he just needs to be accurate enough. While they won’t be 16-0 this season, the Buccaneers should win enough games to take the division title.
