As the NBA enters another free agency, it’s the time to talk about five teams that Boston Celtics Kyrie Irving may join once he’s an official free agent.

5: New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans could use a talent such as Kyrie Irving on their roster. With the ability to draft Zion Williamson in the upcoming NBA Draft, selecting Irving could secure them as a contender in the Western Conference.

The Pelicans already have Jrue Holiday at the point guard position, but if they’re able to convince Anthony Davis to stay, they could find themselves in a great circumstance.

4: Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics will do what it takes to get Kyrie Irving to re-sign with them and to develop a game plan so that they can make a deeper cut into the Eastern Conference. In fact, the last time that Boston has been to an NBA Championship was over a decade ago.

Irving has experience playing with guys like Gordon Hayward and Jayson Tatum, but the roster faces a lot of uncertainty moving forward. If Irving stays with the Celtics, they would need to go all-in on the idea that Irving is the sole face of the franchise.

3: Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have been able to overcome adversity when it comes to matching up against the top talents the NBA has to offer. Both the Nets and the Celtics made the playoffs this past season, with Brooklyn falling to the Philadelphia 76ers in a mere five games.

If Kyrie Irving were to sign onto that roster, it could generate the next exciting backcourt. The Nets are planning to sign D’Angelo Russell to a pretty large extension in free agency, but signing Irving would only add another generational threat.

2: New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are on their way to rebuilding their roster, and with all the talks of possibly recruiting Golden State’s Kevin Durant only heating up, it’s not crazy to believe that Irving would follow suit.

With a plethora of young talent on the roster currently, the New York Knicks still have the ability to create the next chapter for great franchises in the East.

1: Los Angeles Lakers

After the Lakers signed LeBron James, there is now an obvious potential reunion in play when it comes to Kyrie Irving. In a circus of the season, the Lakers bringing in Irving would do more justice than harm. The duo between James and Irving hold a title between them, which came in the notorious 3-1 comeback against the Warriors under their belts.

With draft picks, young talent and plenty of cap space, this is the most logical destination for Kyrie Irving when it comes to the summer of 2019. It could be what the Lakers need to make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
