2019 NFL Trade Deadline Predictions

With the Trade deadline ending on October 29th at 4pm EST, this is the part of the NFL season where teams evaluate their needs. Some teams may be exceeding expectations, while others want to start to rebuild and trade for draft picks. The right move could either raise expectations or lower them for a team’s fan base. Here are some some moves that could be made before the deadline:

The Browns trade for LT Williams

The Browns are currently in the hunt in the AFC North. They are currently one game behind the Baltimore Ravens. Their offensive line has been less than stellar, allowing 16 sacks; the 5th-most in the NFL. As a result, Baker Mayfield’s sophomore campaign has been disappointing. He leads the NFL in interceptions with 8. The Browns need a left tackle that can protect Baker. Trent Williams would be perfect for the Browns in helping with protection.

Prediction Trade: The Browns offer a second-round and fourth-round draft pick to the Washington Redskins for Trent Williams.

Buffalo trades for a veteran backup quarterback

The Buffalo Bills are currently in the playoff race, but have a weakness at the backup quarterback position. Josh Allen has the second-most rushing attempts among quarterbacks in the NFL with 41. In Week 4 against the New England Patriots, Allen was ruled out with a concussion. Backup QB Matt Barkley struggled, as he failed to throw a touchdown and turned the ball over twice in defeat. The Bills need a veteran that can deliver on circumstance.

Prediction Trade: The Bills Offer a fifth or sixth-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for Matt Moore

The Eagles deal for CB Chris Harris

Philadelphia has major issues at the cornerback position. Currently, four of their cornerbacks are battling injuries and have missed a game at some point in the season. The Eagles are currently tied with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East. With their issues in the secondary, a cornerback like Denver Broncos’ Chris Harris would put the Eagles in championship contention. Harris is a four-time Pro Bowl player and former Super Bowl Champion. He would be a big upgrade to a pass defensive that has allowed the 10th-most touchdowns in the NFL.

Trade Prediction: The Eagles offer a third-round and sixth-round pick to the Denver Broncos for Chris Harris

New England trades for a wide receiver

The New England Patriots have shown they need a receiver. After signing Antonio Brown earlier this season, off-the-field issues prevented him from lasting more than one game. Julian Edelman (chest), Josh Gordon (knees), Phillip Dorsett (hamstring), and N’Keal Harry (ankle) haven’t been able to remain healthy through the first six weeks of play. An established receiver would give this team a boost for the second half of the season.

Trade Prediction: The Patriots offer a third-round pick to the Tennessee Titans for Corey Davis
