The day is finally here! The NFL will see it’s future come full circle tonight as the NFL Draft commences tonight. There is sure to be drama as all 32 teams are doing their best to get the prospects they believe will lead them to a championship.

Refresh for latest updates

With the 1st pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M

Amazing pick and it is the right one. Garrett solidifies the defense and they don’t overreach for a QB. Excellent job, Cleveland.

NOTE: The Chicago Bears acquire the 2nd overall pick from the San Francisco 49ers for the 3rd pick, a 3rd round pick, a 4th round pick, and a 2018 3rd round pick.

With the 2nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

STUNNER. All I can say.

With the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford

The Niners moved down one pick, acquiring extra draft assets in the process, and they get their guy in Solomon Thomas. Excellent wheeling and dealing by first time GM John Lynch right here

With the 4th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

Fournette is a dynamic player. If history is any indication, he’ll have a great season. Last year’s #4 pick? Ezekiel Elliott.

With the 5th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan

A bit of a reach here but he is a very explosive player. There are concerns about his ankle, but I guess they aren’t coming from the Titans.

With the 6th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select Jamal Adams, S, LSU

One of the two premier safeties are gone and the Jets grab a first round steal here, if that’s even possible.

RUMOR: The Cleveland Browns are trying to trade for Kirk Cousins

With the 7th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers select Mike Williams, WR, Clemson

Help for Phillip Rivers has arrived! Williams is a big redzone threat and a very exciting player to watch.

With the 8th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

Well, Carolina got their guy here in McCaffrey. Could play at RB or WR, so some versatility here.

With the 9th pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select John Ross, WR, Washington

Ross is a dynamic player. However, I believe Cincinnati’s biggest need is on defense. Yet, it does make sense. The Bengals have lost Mohammed Sanu and Marvin Jones Jr. in recent free agent classes. They add a speedster to pair with AJ Green.

TRADE: The Kansas City Chiefs acquire the 10th pick from the Buffalo Bills for the 27th pick, a 3rd round pick, and a 2018 1st round pick

With the 10th pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select Patrick Mahomes II, QB, Texas Tech

Mahomes is a great pick here. The Chiefs get a replacement for Alex Smith. They gave up a lot to move up, including a first for next year, but I like this.

With the 11th pick, the New Orleans Saints select Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State

THERE HE IS. The Saints might not be getting Malcom Butler, but they get a very promising kid in Lattimore. Excellent pick. Meanwhile, what’s up with Malik Hooker and Reuben Foster? Has the free fall begun?

TRADE: The Houston Texans have acquired the 12th overall pick from the Cleveland Browns for the 25th pick and a 2018 first round pick

With the 12th pick, the Houston Texans select DeShaun Watson, QB, Clemson

Three QBs in the Top 12. The Texans risk a future first on one of the nations best quarterbacks last year. Although I find it a bit strange that the Browns of all teams would make this move and allow Houston to take the last of the top QBs. Although, Kizer remains out of ND.

With the 13th pick, the Arizona Cardinals select Hasson Reddick, LB, Temple

Reddick is a great linebacker and what a ride for the walk on linebacker. He gets drafted in front of his hometown crowd, too.

With the 14th pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee

The Eagles replace Connor Barwin with a promising pass rusher in Derek Barnett. It’s a great fit.

Meanwhile, Reuben Foster, Malik Hooker, and Jonathan Allen are still up for grabs.

With the 15th pick, the Indianapolis Colts select Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State

I think Chris Ballard is reading this. If so, please share this with all of your friends please. That’d be swell.

All that aside, this is a great pick. Hooker slipped a bit due to injury concerns and missed tackles, but he will be a force for years to come.

With the 16th pick, the Baltimore Ravens select Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama

Humphrey was one of the top CBs on the board and has the potential to be one of the best to come out of this draft class. A few flaws in his game, but I believe he’ll clean his game up, like Malik Hooker.

With the 17th pick, the Washington Redskins select Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama

Allen has been taken. All is right in the world. This is a hell of a pick for the Skins here.

With the 18th pick, the Tennessee Titans select Adoree’ Jackson, CB, USC

The Titans go offense then defense in Round 1, grabbing Corey Davis earlier and now a playmaker in Adoree’ Jackson. Maybe a bit of a reach, but this isn’t bad at all.

With the 19th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select O.J Howard, TE, Alabama

The first of the top tight ends is off the board as O.J Howard goes here. Big kid that can block and provide help to the running game while Doug Martin is suspended. Nice pick here.

With the 20th pick, the Denver Broncos select Garett Bolles, OT, Utah

This is the latest an offensive lineman has come off the board and I’m surprised he went before Forrest Lamp. However, this is a great pick and a great moment for him.

With the 21st pick, the Detroit Lions select Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida

The Lions fill a huge need here with Davis. Linebacker depth is something Detroit needs badly and if Davis stays healthy, he’ll be a force.

With the 22nd pick, the Miami Dolphins select Charles Harris, DE, Missouri

Harris is an imposing DE that will join forces with Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake. Nice pick here.

With the 23rd pick, the New York Giants select Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss

Here’s a guy who just recently made a push to sneak into the first round and what do you know? It worked! He’s got great speed and catching ability. Nice pick here.

With the 24th pick, the Oakland Raiders select Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State

Conley shot up draft boards after he was considered one of the cleanest prospects in the pool. Then, he gets hit with a rape allegation. Oakland seems to be unaffected by this.

With the 25th pick, the Cleveland Browns select Jabrill Peppers, S, Michigan

The ultra-hybrid player is off the board. He played 13 positions at Michigan this past year, including running back and quarterback. It’ll be interesting to see where he plays.

TRADE: The Atlanta Falcons have acquired the 26th pick from the Seattle Seahawks for the 31st pick, a 3rd round pick, and a 7th round pick

With the 26th pick, the Atlanta Falcons select Takkarist McKinley, LB, UCLA

Defensive minded coach making a defensive minded pick. Dan Quinn gets him a linebacker to help the pass rush.

Oh, and there was this gem:

With the 27th pick, the Buffalo Bills select Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU

He’s a playmaker and a baller. Nice one here.

With the 28th pick, the Dallas Cowboys select Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan

TACO!! Anyone with a name like that is always a great pick, but this kid as real talent. Nice one here for the Boys.

TRADE: The Cleveland Browns have acquired the 29th pick from the Green Bay Packers for the 33rd pick and a fourth round pick.

With the 29th pick, the Cleveland Browns select David Njoku, TE, Miami

The Browns beefed up their defense and add an offensive weapon in Njoku who really should’ve gone a lot higher than this. Nicely done again by the Browns.

With the 30th pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select TJ Watt, LB, Wisconsin

Watt, the younger brother of JJ, can play both linebacker and defensive line. Nice pick here, and a nice tribute to Dan Rooney.

TRADE: The San Francisco 49ers have acquired the 31st pick from the Seattle Seahawks for picks 34 and 111

With the 31st pick, the San Francisco 49ers select Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama

The Niners grab a player who slipped for a number of reasons. However, he’s an amazing talent and John Lynch has had a hell of a day.

With the 32nd pick, the New Orleans Saints select Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin

This was a bit of a surprise since the defense is in need of a huge overhaul, however Ramczyk is a great talent and has the talent to flourish. He’ll be challenged with keeping Drew Brees upright for the last few years of his career.

That will do it for Round One. Check back here tomorrow for live pick-by-pick updates for day two. Also, check out a piece I recently did on the ESPN layoffs here.
