Reaction, and Pros & Cons of NASCAR’s new premier sponsor

Just today, NASCAR announced the new titular sponsor for the premier Cup Series, that was previously named the Nextel/Sprint Cup. The new sponsor is Monster Energy, a current sponsor of Kurt Busch, driver of the #41 Stewart-Haas Ford Fusion. There were many sponsors that were better than Monster Energy, including, Coca-Cola, Yum! Brands (Parent company of Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell, And A&W), and quite possibly even, Mars Brands.

There are several pros and cons of the new sponsor. With the new sponsor, Rockstar Energy may not want to sponsor a Cup car despite sponsoring cars in Xfinity Series, especially with 5-Hour Energy also in the mix. Another issue is that Monster could quite possibly force 5-Hour Energy out of NASCAR, similar to what Sprint did to AT&T, and Alltel/Verizon, which is something that Erik Jones & the entire Furniture Row Racing team hopes doesn’t happen.

A good thing about the new sponsor is that it can bring in a new crowd, due to NASCAR and Monster now being able to jointly greet new consumers and fans into both of their products. Another thing is that Monster Energy has sponsors with other motorsports, like Motorcross, and Rally. It brings opportunities for people from multiple sports to do promotions for the beverage, and for their sport too.

Since it’s close to the Christmas Holidays, here are a couple of gifts for all the NASCAR fans:
