Peterson Receiving Surgery on Torn Meniscus

According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, Adrian Peterson is reportedly scheduled for surgery for his torn meniscus he suffered last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

This kind of injury is unpredictable, as many have failed to come back 100% from it, while others were able to come back after lots of rehab. According to the team doctors, Peterson’s timetable when it comes to a return is 3-4 months, but how well prepared will he really be?

Known as one of the greatest running backs to ever step on the field, Peterson’s age is surely a big factor in just how productive he can be.

The 31-year old is having a slow 2016 campaign, as he is averaging only 1.6 ypc in the first two weeks. With a total of 50 rushing yards, Peterson currently ranks 46th in the entire league.

While many doubt his capability to return in full swing, you need to remember that this is the same guy that tore his ACL back in 2011, and then was just nine yards short of Dickerson’s rushing record, as he got up to 2,097 yards in 2012.

Peterson is unlike any other running back the NFL has ever seen, but how long will his magic last?
