The Los Angeles Rams have acquired the 1st overall pick of the NFL draft, along with a 4th and 6th round pick, from the Tennessee Titans for the Rams’ 1st round picks in this year’s and next year’s draft, two 2nd round picks, and two 3rd round picks.

Last season, the Rams finished 3rd in the NFC West with a 7-9 record. The season started well with a 4-3 record, until the team lost five games in a row. The Rams were lead by offensive rookie of the year in running back Todd Gurley despite him missing the first three games of the season.

The team just moved back to Los Angeles this offseason, so there is a lot of pressure on the team to make an impact in the first season back in California. Getting the first overall pick from the Titans is a big move, and even though they have Case Keenum, the team has a hole at quarterback. That’s where the first pick possibly comes into play.

The team is projected to select either California quarterback Jared Goff, or North Dakota Quarterback Carson Wentz. The team did give up a lot for the first overall pick, and it is a gamble, but if Wentz or Goff are a superstar quarterback in the making, it will be worth it. The team could of picked a good quarterback with the original first round pick, like Memphis Quarterback Paxton Lynch.

Tennessee was getting a lot of interest for the first pick. Teams like Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers  wanted the pick. The team got the best offer it could with this deal. The team is stockpiling on draft picks which is smart for a rebuilding team. There will still be a good offensive linemen with the 15th overall pick.

As of right now, the Titans win this trade with all the draft picks that the team is getting in this trade. A lot of experts are saying that this years draft class is really weak, so the Rams giving up all those picks for the number one overall pick is a bit risky. There is still a chance Wentz or Goff will be a franchise quarterback, if that happens the Rams wins this trade.
