On Saturday afternoon, New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino landed his first MLB victory as he was on the mound against the Cleveland Indians.
The Yankees would break out against Indians starter Danny Salazar, ultimately winning the game 6-2. Brett Gardner and Brian McCann would both hit homeruns in the first inning.
Severino would go on to throw a solid six innings, only allowing three hits and one run. The 21-year old would also accomplish striking out six batters in his performance.
The Yankees prized prospect has lots of potential for the future, as the team looks for a second-half push into the playoffs. New York currently leads in the AL East, but I’m sure all Yankees fans can feel the Blue Jays on their tails.
