After the Arizona Cardinals have contained a fairly quiet offseason, NFL Network and ESPN have reported that running back Chris Johnson could potentially wind up with the Arizona Cardinals.
According to sources, a one-year offer was made to Johnson by the organization. Johnson has been out of football since the New York Jets declined his 2015 contract option.
The Cardinals already contain Andre Ellington, but having a running back like Johnson can never hurt your team. Although he only carried the ball 155 last season (with a career low 663 yards), it’s important to remember that Johnson was splitting time with Chris Ivory.
The Cardinals backfield contains a lot of question marks right now, as Ellington, David Johnson and Marion Grice all have hamstring injuries.
