The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Johan Larsson to a one-year contract. The Sabres had retained the rights to Larsson by extending him a qualifying offer last month. The signing was announced last Tuesday.
The Swedish-born player had six goals and 10 assists in a career-high 39 games with the Sabres last season. Larsson was acquired by Buffalo in a trade that sent captain Jason Pominville to Minnesota in April of 2013. This is an extremely great thing for a struggling Buffalo team, as Larsson is one of the brightest futures the Sabres have on their roster. He should have a very good season this upcoming year.
