During a loss to the Kansas City Royals on Monday night, it has become reported by multiple sources that Mariners outfielder Nelson Cruz dislocated his pelvic bone out of place at some point during the game.
According to Lloyd McClendon of CBS Sports, Cruz felt fine after they popped the bone back into place, and the power-hitter will be evaluated on a day to day basis.
Dustin Ackley would come in to pinch hit for Cruz, but that does not change the fact that the Mariners could be in trouble. Even though Cruz has been struggling through the month of June, he is without a doubt the best hitter on the roster. For every day that Cruz misses, the offense takes a huge hit. How long will his return be? Hopefully for Mariners’ fans sake, just a couple of games.
