Tom Thibodeau has had a great run in Chicago, and its more than likely that his run with the Bulls might be over. After the 94-73 loss to the Cavaliers, the biggest question facing Chicago is will Tom Thibodeau return?

Stories and rumors have surfaced throughout the season about Coach Thibodeau and his relationship with upper management, specifically the VP of operations, John Paxson. In his 5 seasons as the Bulls Head Coach, he has a regular season record of 255-139, which is a winning percentage of .647, he also won Coach of the Year in 2011. In the playoffs, Coach Thibodeau has not had the same success. His win pct. is under .500 with a record of 23-28.

In his first year under the helm, he took the Bulls all the way to the Conference finals only to lose to LeBron James who lead his Miami Heat team to win the series 4-1. In his next 4 seasons, he failed to make it out of the Conference Semifinals. To his defense, his best player has been riddled with injuries the past couple of seasons, but he still managed to have a competitive team. Thibodeau is known for his intensity and hard nose attention to defense. The Bulls during his tenure have always been near the top ranked team when it comes to defense.

Rumors are also swirling around about Thibodeau’s interest in the New Orleans coaching position. For now that is just pure speculation, but if Thibs does leave Chicago he will be a very sought after coach and I can expect a lot of teams to give him a call. With Jimmy Butler about to head into free agency and the Head Coach up in limbo, it could be a very interesting summer for the Chicago Bulls.
